Mill Creek pounds Hagerstown, 15-5

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa -- Mill Creek pounded out 16 hits, including four by Jason Todd and two homers from Alec Kisena, in a 15-5 rout Monday of Hagerstown, Md., at the Little League World Series.

Todd went 4-for-4 with a three-run homer and finished a triple short of the cycle as Mill Creek secured its first win in the tournament.

Maryland scored three times in the first and added an Andrew Yacyk homer in the fourth to close the deficit to 8-5 but couldn’t keep up with Mill Creek’s hot bats. A seven-run fifth inning sealed the game for Mill Creek.

Mill Creek, which faced elimination from championship contention with a loss, improved to 1-1 in Pool A. Mill Creek closes out pool play Tuesday with a game against Jefferson, Ind. (0-2). Hagerstown dropped to 1-1.

The top two teams in the four-team pool advance to the U.S. semifinals. The other team in Pool A is South Lake Charles, La. (2-0).
