Volunteers needed to advocate for elderly

Volunteers are needed to assist vulnerable adults living in nursing homes, assisted-living facilities and adult family homes throughout Snohomish County.

A volunteer ombudsman works as an advocate, educator, investigator and problem-solver on their behalf.

The Snohomish County long-term care ombudsman program will offer a four-day training session Oct. 15, 16, 22 and 23 for new volunteers.

Once certified, volunteers are asked to spend an average of four hours a week on their duties. Expenses such as mileage are reimbursable.

For more information, contact Michal Glauner at 425-388-7393 or michal.glauner@snoco.org.
