Celebrate the grand opening of the Paradise Valley Conservation Area, run by Snohomish County Parks, on Earth Day.
A ceremony is 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the park, south of Highway 522 on Paradise Lake Road near the King County line.
County parks director Tom Teigen said the conservation area includes a mountain bike skills course and more than 12 miles of trails on nearly 800 acres.

Edmonds: Stencil drains for Earth Day
Environmentalists in Edmonds will spend part of Earth Day stenciling storm drains to remind people that all runoff affects salmon. The Edmonds Backyard Wildlife group plans to stencil across the city from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday.
Urban and suburban drains need to be stenciled. Stencils, paint and orange safety vests can be provided.

Lynnwood: Annual fisherman breakfast
Lake Stickney Community Club's annual tradition of sending the lake's fisherman off with a hearty breakfast on opening day continues this year from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the clubhouse at 1428 South Lake Stickney Drive in Lynnwood. Fish that are caught might be cooked and eaten at the event, too.
Neighbors, friends and family are welcome to share a menu that includes bacon, eggs, waffles, coffee and juice.
The cost is $8 for adults, and $5 for kids under 12. Proceeds benefit the club's general fund.
Snohomish: 'Guys and Dolls' at school
The Snohomish High School Drama program will present the full-length version of "Guys and Dolls" beginning April 24 in the school's Performing Arts Center, 1318 Fifth St.
Tickets are $8 without an ASB card and $5 for students with ASB cards. Show time is 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and April 30 and May 1.
Everett: Raise money for better baby health
The March of Dimes' annual fundraising walk is Saturday at American Legion Memorial Park, 145 Alverson Blvd. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the 3.5-mile walk starts at 9 a.m.
Proceeds help moms learn about raising healthy babies.

Penny Creek PTA prepares for fair
The Penny Creek Elementary School PTA will host a craft and vendor fair from 3 to 8 p.m. May 1 in the school's cafeteria, 4117 132nd St. SE.
The event features jewelry, housewares, decorations, clothing, homemade crafts, specialty food and other items. There also will be a raffle of donated items.
