Seahawks sign FB Kirtman

The Seahawks signed fullback David Kirtman to a one-year deal Monday, bringing the USC grad back for a second stint with the team.

Kirtman, a Mercer Island native, was drafted by Seattle in the fifth round of the 2006 draft, and was released by the team after training camp last summer. He was with the Seahawks for a tryout during their April minicamp, and will provide depth at the fullback position. The Seahawks recently signed Justin Griffith, who will likely be the starter, and also have Owen Schmitt, a second-year player out of West Virginia.

After being cut by the Seahawks last summer, Kirtman ended up on San Diego's practice squad, then signed with the San Francisco 49ers, playing in one game. He ended the season on the New Orleans Saints practice squad after being released by San Francisco.
