The Snohomish County transit agency's maintenance team of Joe Hulett of Everett, Howard Evans of Stanwood, and Steve Hanks of Everett recently won the International Bus Maintenance Roadeo at the American Public Transportation Association's annual Bus and Paratransit Conference in Seattle.
The Maintenance Roadeo included seven events that tested each team's knowledge of situations encountered while working on buses. Community Transit scored 1,855 points, more than 100 points more than the second-place team from a San Bernardino, Calif., transit agency.

EverTrust aids Christmas House
EverTrust Foundation recently donated $15,000 to Christmas House to support the nonprofit's warm outerwear program.
Last year, Christmas House provided gifts and clothing to more than 9,500 children and 3,300 families from 21 different cities in Snohomish County. More than 650 volunteers logged more than 8,000 hours to make this possible.

Girl Scout troop helps feed hungry
Junior Girl Scout Troop No. 43132 from the Silver Lake-Mill Creek area has earned its Bronze Award.
The main part of the troop's project involved raising funds to plan, prepare and serve a meal to the hungry at Life Changes Church in Everett.
Life Changes offers a free meal at 5:30 p.m. every Saturday.
Bowlers bring in $32,500 for kids
Bowlers from Snohomish County, including 11 different corporate groups, raised more than $32,500 at Glacier Lanes at a fundraiser to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County.
Long-standing partners of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County such as Boeing, Cascade Bank and The Everett Clinic raised money for the agency.
Big Brothers Big Sisters provides mentoring programs to Snohomish County children and families.
