The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, sponsored by Catholic Community Services, offers volunteering opportunities in Snohomish County for people older than 55.
Volunteers enrolled in RSVP receive free supplemental liability, accident and automobile insurance coverage while performing their volunteer duties, along with an ongoing personal recognition program and the chance to meet new people and learn new skills.
There are more than 400 RSVP volunteer opportunities throughout the county. RSVP helps volunteers find fulfillment in their volunteer work and match their lifetimes of skills and experience with organizations looking for help.

Open house: Tour Camp Killoqua
The community is invited to attend an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Camp Killoqua. Tour camp, meet the staff and enjoy Killoqua's 185-acre facility.
Camp Killoqua, operated by Camp Fire USA Snohomish County Council since 1941, offers year-round programming focused on youth, including summer resident and day camps, outdoor education, leadership programs and a retreat space for youth organizations. It's in the Seven Lakes area, 20 miles northwest of Everett.
More than 50 volunteers are needed to help put together the annual Loganberry Festival July 25 and 26 at Greenbank Farm on Whidbey Island.
Responsibilities include putting up posters, acting as cashiers, directing traffic for parking and picking up trash. Volunteers are needed to help pour beverages in the wine and beer tents. Cashiers are needed for sales of tasting tickers, poster art prints, souvenir shirts, loganberry truffles and jams, and other Greenbank Farm items.

The Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth St., offers evening events, in response to the growing number of seniors who are working and can't get to the center during the day. Events include:
Deck and 1/2; Pinochle from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays.
Wood carving from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays.
Bunco from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month, beginning Aug. 5.
Driftwood sculpture from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning in September.
