Acid leaks at Pacific Science Center in Seattle

SEATTLE -- A fire department hazmat team helped clean up the spill of about 10 gallons of muriatic acid at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle.

Spokeswoman Dana Vander Houwen says the acid that leaked from plumbing at 8:40 a.m. today is diluted and used to clean water pools at the center.

Employees were evacuated without injury. The spill was in an area closed to the public and didn't prevent the center from opening on schedule at 10 a.m.
