HOMOSEXUALITY

Let's keep religion out of secular law

The letter writer in Tuesday's Herald spoke of homosexuality as sin. ("Recognizing sin is not a 'phobia'"). I tire of this selective identification of sin based on a particular interpretation of scripture. First of all, religion should be between the individual and their God and not incorporated into secular law.

However, if one persists in condemning homosexuality as a sin based on the Bible, how about including the prohibition against usury (lending money for interest) as mentioned in Leviticus? That would be "interest"-ing!
