The Seattle Bach Choir will team up with Mosaic Brass Quintet in November for a concert of music inspired by Hildegard von Bingen. Music by women composers will be prominently featured including two settings of O Viridissima Virga by Emma Lou Diemer and Janika Vandervelde. In honor of the 400th anniversary of Giovanni Gabrieli’s death several of his lesser known choral works will be performed in addition to some of his more popular brass pieces. Chants by Hildegard von Bingen and Visions From Hildegard, Part 2 by Stephen Paulus will also be on the program. The concert will be preceded by an informative lecture by Dr. Anne Lyman at 2pm complete with wine reception.
