Help Salmon! Remove blackberry on Haystack Creek!

February 23 | 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Help Salmon! Remove blackberry on Haystack Creek! imageHelp remove blackberry, and plant native shrubs along Haystack Creek! Haystack Creek is a tributary that eventually flows into the Skykomish. It needs shrubs to provide shade and erosion control which will help the juvenile salmon that live there!.

At this planting, we will remove blackberry roots to prevent it from overtaking any native plants we put in the ground, and plant 400 Nootka Rose bushes along the creek. Native shrubs like Nootka Rose will provide shade, erosion control, and food for the macroinvertebrates that juvenile salmon like to eat! By planting native shrubs, you will help make a positive impact on salmon populations, and a positive impact on your community. Sign up today!
