Celebrate Recovery
|
We are Christ centered 12 step program. We meet every Tuesday. We deal with everything from alcoholism, co-dependency, food issues, gambling, abuse recovery. !!Child care available!!
The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to encourage fellowship and to celebrate God’s healing power in our lives as we work our way along the road to recovery. We are changed as we share our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition we become willing to accept God’s grace and forgiveness in solving our life’s problems.
By working the principles and steps, we grow spiritually, and we are freed from our hurts, habits and hang-ups. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with others and our personal, loving, forgiving Higher Power – Jesus Christ. |

Dialogue # 3: "The Sound of Home-Floating Flutes Over Intangible Walls"
|
What does “home” sound like? How does something become “home” no matter where we are geographically-no matter how distant in setting-no matter how uncomfortable in surroundings.
Zai Circle invites you to this Musical Conversation for Peace exploring the cultural, generational, physical and metaphorical divide in multi-dimensional improvisations.
Tonights conversation includes a one act musical play featuring: Armenian flutist Norik Manukyan ; Dance virtuoso from Israel, Maya Karasso, who will be engaging 4 different characters throughout the evening with different masks.
Maya will also be the link to the audience and the conversationalists on stage. Her characters are: Hope and Healing, Mystery and Intrigue, Antagonist and Skepticism, and Radiance and Light.
They will be joined by veteran jazz man, Greg Sinibaldi, on tenor sax and bass clarinet; two violinists, a percussionist; vocalist Madeleine Sosin will bring her classical and Venezuelan influences to the mix; Sono Hashisaki will bring in her dance and fiddling background and her melodic explorations on electric violin to the stage and KeLan will play on an array of electric basses, acoustic and electric guitars and loops.
All of this will be juxtaposed over projected images with our visiting VJ, Eugene Keam, conjuring up what "home" is-from images designed to illicit beauty to images that ask a sociological question of what "we" are willing to accept as home.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Free Parking. All ages welcome!
Cost: under 18 Free; $17 at the door; $15 online. See websites for more information and tickets.

Edmonds Christian Church Mid-Week Fellowship
|
November 5: You are invited to join Edmonds Christian Church as we consider our theme, When Service Men and Women Return Home, with Marge Higby, retired coordinator of veterans' benefits at Shoreline Community College. Hear the stories of what vets face when they try to reintegrate into the world, and find out what we can do to help them. November 12: Contemplative Labyrinth Service Honoring Veterans from 6:30pm to 8pm at Edmonds Christian Church. We will read names of veterans, living and deceased, as we walk the labyrinth in our sanctuary. This is a wonderful way to honor veterans even if you don't actually walk the labyrinth.
November 19: Movie: The Home of the Brave. This movie explores the lives of three Iraq war veterans as they come home to Spokane, WA. Those of us who haven't been in a war situation can't imagine what it would be like to be expected to go back to the life we had before that experience, but this film will help us to understand a little better.
All are welcome to come. The evening starts at 6:30 with a light supper, followed by the program of the evening at 7 p.m. Visit Edmonds Christian Church at 23010 84th Ave. W., Edmonds. For more information, please visit our website http://edmondschristian.ning.com/ or call the church at (425)775-5212. |

"Light a Light" for the City of Edmonds Youth Scholarship Fund
|
In the spirit of giving, light a light this holiday season for someone you love, something you wish for or in remembrance of a loved one.
Each light you light is a donation to the scholarship fund that enables local children to participate in our recreation programs who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to do so.
This year a living fir tree will be strung with lights and placed outside the entrance to the center.
Donate $5 per name and we'll note your donation on a main floor bulletin board inside the center. The tree will remain lit until January 4th.
