Tiny, delicate flowers called "foamflower" spring from the forest floor in the Walter R. Briggs Old Growth Forest. The blooms are about one-eighth inch in width. The scientific name for foamflower is Tiarella trifoliata. Read about the forest here and here. (Dan Bates / The Herald)
