Start with the prewrap (a.k.a. underwrap or pro wrap). Sold at sporting goods stores or pharmacies, it keeps the athletic tape from coming in contact with the skin and causing rashes or blisters. Begin wrapping at the toes, lightly, circling around the foot and up the ankle to 2 or 3 inches above the ankle joint (or work your way down from the top to the toes). Go to the next item.
