Community made year productive and fun

I am the Volunteer In Service to America at Tulalip Elementary School and I serve with the Washington Reading Corps of Snohomish County. I wish to thank a number of people and businesses that helped to make the last school year so productive and enjoyable.
There are many to thank and only a small amount of room. Not everybody will make it into this letter. So to those left out, you know who you are and you have my thanks. To the teachers and staff of Tulalip Elementary School, it was my pleasure to work with you last year. You are doing an awesome job. Thanks to Sen. Aaron Reardon for agreeing to speak to the children in the Everett YMCA summer school on the "Power of the Vote" and to the invaluable Steve for all his help.
And thank you to the following: the Verizon Foundation for its generous $2,500 grant to the Tulalip Library and the Page Ahead Organization for its help in ordering the books and helping us stretch the grant money; the Washington Transportation Safety Commission for its grant; Albertson's, Safeway and the Silver Lake QFC for all their help; Karl's Bakery and the Marysville Papa John's for the food; Tully's, Seattle's Best Coffee and especially the manager at the Marysville Starbucks for partnering with us; also, Fred Meyer, Craft Mart, Staples, Wal-Mart, Half Price Books and the Boeing Bluebills.
Thanks also to the Americorps, VISTAs and leadership of the WRC for an exceptional year. I couldn't have done it without you and I enjoyed every minute of it. To all the community volunteers of the WRC, who freely give of their time to tutor the students, our gratitude and many thanks. Together we "made a difference in the life of a child."
