Seattle cyclist in hospital after accident near Granite Falls

A Seattle woman was listed in serious condition Sunday after she was struck on Highway 92 near Granite Falls while riding a bicycle.

Carol Bergson, 57, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center following the accident, which occurred two miles west of Granite Falls around noon Sunday.

A 33-year-old Granite Falls man was driving eastbound on the highway when his GMC pickup veered onto the shoulder and struck Bergson, according to the State Patrol. Driver fatigue was listed as a possible contributing factor to the accident, which was still being investigated Sunday. Alcohol was not believed to have been involved. The man was uninjured.
