Man dies after fall from dock at Everett Marina
A 71-year-old man died Sunday after falling into the water at the Everett Marina, the Everett Fire Department reported.
The man, whose name was not released, had just arrived in town earlier Sunday from out of state to visit a friend who moors a boat at the marina, Battalion Chief Nick Walker said.
The man was stepping from the dock onto the boat around 7 p.m. when he slipped and fell into the water, Walker said. He was having trouble keeping his head above water before his friend and another person were able to pull him out, but he soon lost consciousness, Walker said.
The man's friend administered CPR and paramedics used a defibrillator on him, but were unable to revive him, Walker said.
