Where's the help on 'little' crimes
The response you get from various law enforcement agencies makes you wonder if they are even interested in catching crooks if it is not horrible crime or if they have to put forth any type of effort.
Our garage was broken into recently and the stolen vehicle that was used was found stuck in the mud two houses down the street with two more stolen vehicles. Outside of inventorying the stolen merchandise, zero investigation was done by the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
Everett Police made a traffic stop one morning and found that person in possession of a checkbook (that was taken at the above mentioned break in) along with the drivers licenses of several other people. There was almost no communication between Everett PD and SCSO. In fact, I had to give a SCSO detective the phone number of the Everett detective. The crook plead guilty to three counts of identity theft and nothing was tied to the break-in or stolen vehicle.
This morning I called the FBI about an Internet scam. They have no interest in following the trail of a fraudulent scam and just want me to file a report on line.
The various agencies do their darnedest to stop crimes that are in progress, and solve the "big" crimes but it seems they do almost nothing to stop the more prevalent little crimes that actually cost you and I the most money in long run.
