EDMONDS -- The driver of a recycling truck died today after he somehow was run over by the vehicle while working in the 9100 block of 184th Street SW, Edmonds police reported.

The man, 29, of Bothell, was found dead in the street at about 8 a.m., and the Eastside Recycling Service Truck he operated crashed into some nearby bushes.

There were no witnesses to the accident, but it appeared as if the driver was killed when the truck rolled over him, police Sgt. Don Anderson said.

The man is an employee of Allied Waste Disposal Service. His name was being withheld pending notification of family.

Police were investigating at the accident scene this morning, but traffic was not hindered, Anderson said.
