Westfall is assistant vice president and retail office manager of the Lynnwood office. A Lynnwood resident, he brings an extensive banking background to his new role. Pearson is assistant vice president and retail office manager of the Snohomish office. A Snohomish resident, she has more than 30 years of experience in financial services. Elgin Olrogg has been hired as vice president and commercial lender at Banner Bank's Alderwood Commercial Lending Center. Olrogg previously worked with Viking Bank in Ballard, Bank of America and Seafirst Bank. Michael Yeoman has been elected chairman of Perteet Inc.'s board of directors. Yeoman heads Perteet's survey and mapping division, is a shareholder of the employee-owned company, is chairman of the governance committee, and will provide strategic leadership and support to the company president. Perteet, headquartered in Everett, provides consulting services in transportation design and planning, environmental planning, surveying and mapping, urban design, and construction administration. Denna Cline has joined Perteet as its director of transportation planning. Cline has more than 20 years of planning experience. Mar Tobiason of Snohomish has been elected chairman of the board of directors of the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Tobiason has been a Red Cross volunteer since 1998. Other officers are Tim Serban, first vice president; Dr. Steve Dahlberg, second vice president; Pat Sisneros, treasurer/finance; Leslie Hynes, secretary; Al Aldrich, nomination/governance; Eric Sprink, financial development; and LeAnne Frank, finance. Elected to their first terms on the board of directors were Mark McClure of Ragen MacKenzie, Randy Utt of the Everett Fire Department, Chad Stefonowicz of Premera Blue Cross, Chris Prock of Bank of America, Jim Davis of Fluke Corp. and Barbara Fugleberg of Group Health Cooperative. Board members elected to a second term are Paul Smith of the Boeing Co., Leslie Hynes of Fire District 1 and Dr. Steve Dahlberg of the Everett Clinic. Leslie Rougutt of Bothell and Dale Wilson of Snohomish have been honored for 25 years of work as certified dental technicians. Only 15 percent of dental technicians achieve certification, according to the National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology. Capt. Dennis Hill recently completed his 30th year with the Paine Field Fire Department. Hill has been a fire captain since 1987. The airport fire department follows Federal Aviation Administration requirements for special aircraft rescue training. Hill's duties include building inspections and safety training. Business news Zippy's Java Lounge, 1804 Hewitt Ave., Suite 100, Everett, is celebrating its second anniversary in business. On Wednesday the Internet coffee shop offers two-for-one coffees or ice cream cones. The store is named after owner Marilyn Rosenberg's Dalmatian dog Zippy. The shop sponsors poetry readings and open microphone sessions for musicians, and has music scheduled throughout the day Wednesday. Haggen and Top Food stores are offering the final Harry Potter books just after midnight on Saturday. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the final installment in the J.K. Rowling series goes on sale at 12:01 a.m. Fans are welcome to show up in costume and enjoy free treats and a trivia contest. Verathon, formerly Diagnostic Ultrasound Corp., a Bothell-based maker of medical equipment, has been named one of the best companies to work for by Washington CEO magazine and Seattle Business Monthly. Verathon was selected from more than 200 companies nominated, as one of the best in the medium-size range. Only 34 similarly sized companies made the Washington CEO top 100 list. News notes More than 12,000 Washington residents are eligible for an estimated $9.1 million in restitution from Ameriquest Mortgage Co. and its related companies. The state Department of Financial Institutions officials said the money comes from last year's $325 million national settlement, in which states alleged widespread fraud by Ameriquest as part of a high-pressure scheme to sell mortgages that trapped consumers into debt and put them at risk of losing their homes. Letters and claim forms were sent to eligible Washington consumers this week. To receive restitution, consumers must mail their completed, signed form to the settlement administrator by Sept. 10. Good deeds AeA, a Lynnwood based technology trade association, was one of two organizations to receive the 2006-07 Science Education Advocate award from Washington State Leadership and Assistance for Science Education Report, with support from the Boeing Co. The association has 2,500 member companies representing all segments of the high-technology industry. AeA works to improve math, engineering and science education through grade 12. AeA contributes funds to a variety of educational programs. Snohomish TOP Food & Drug raised $1,900 for Kla Ha Ya Days at a community barbecue on July 6 celebrating the store's renovation. Three of the four honored the Master Builders Care Foundation (a philanthropic arm of the local homebuilders association) and the group's local builder captains.
