Immigrants applying for U.S. citizenship are facing long delays and a steep increase in fees.
As if that weren’t enough, there’s also the challenge of the citizenship exam. For those of you who’ve never had to take it, here are some of the possible questions, along with right and wrong answers:
What are the duties of Congress?
Correct: To make laws.
Incorrect: To get re-elected.
Name one purpose of the United Nations.
Correct: For countries to discuss and try to resolve world problems, and to provide economic aid.
Incorrect: To entertain Iran and North Korea.
Who becomes president if the president and vice president should die?
Correct: Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Incorrect: Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Name one of the requirements to become president.
Correct: Be at least 35 years old, a natural-born citizen of the United States and a U.S. resident for at least 14 years.
Incorrect: Own at least one pet, have a trust fund and be able to say you never inhaled.
