Sailing ships to visit Everett
FYI
The Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain are visiting the Port of Everett Marina through Sunday.
The classic sailing ships will dock in front of Anthony's Homeport. Dockside tours begin this afternoon.
The crew, all dressed in period costume, will explain the life of an 18th-century sailor, the workings of square-rigged sailing vessels, and historical exploration of the Northwest Coast.
A variety of three-hour sails cost between $35 and $60, including "Battle Sails" complete with cannon fire and seeing the crew hauling line and climbing the rigging.
Sunset sails offer passengers a more hands-on experience with opportunities to help sail the vessels, all during the golden hours of the day but without the cannon fire.
For a reservation, call 800-200-LADY.
