Starting today, we've added a new feature to the blogs. You can now subscribe to each of them by RSS feed. Just click the link next to this symbol
near the blogger's name and picture at the top of their main page.
What is an RSS feed? RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication. It's become an Internet standard for sharing frequently updated content.
To use RSS feeds, you'll need an RSS reader. There are many of them available for free, including Google Reader, MyYahoo and Bloglines. The latest versions of Internet Explorer and FireFox also have built-in RSS readers.
I use RSS feeds to keep track of breaking news from other Washington state newspapers and catch up on what's going on in the news industry from some of my favorite blogs. HeraldNet also has feeds for local news and several other sections of our site. See the full list here.
For more information about RSS feeds and how to use them, check out this tutorial from CNET.com or this one from FeedBurner.com.
