Moving van at work at Everett Hawks office

EVERETT — It's a sign that can't be good for any troubled minor league football team: A moving van parked outside the corporate offices.

But that was the case on Sunday afternoon at the offices of the Everett Hawks arena football team at 2213 Everett Ave.

A crew of movers was on hand but none would comment.

Questions are swirling around the arenafootball2 team that just finished its fourth year in Everett.

The team's three-year lease is over and has yet to be renewed with the Comcast Arena at Everett Events Center.

League board members were scheduled to talk about the Everett Hawks this weekend in Shreveport, La.

The team also owes back taxes to at least two state agencies. A painting business filed a lawsuit against the Hawks last month.

And there are also questions about the ownership of the Hawks. The team is owned by NFL defensive tackle Sam Adams, who is in training camp with the Denver Broncos, and his minority partner, Michael Tuckman.
