Want your employees to lose weight? Just pay them for it. Cash incentives are way more effective than an exercise room or healthy food in the cafeteria. Not a big surprise, really. Who wants to get sweaty and red-faced in front of co-workers? Save that behavior for the execs as they try to explain why they haven't met their financial numbers.
Speaking of slimming down, exercise is good for you. And if you want to improve your mood, some activity might just be the trick. And no, walking to the fridge to get Ben & Jerry's doesn't count. Although that might be another way to improve your mood, if not your cholesterol levels.
Women are less likely to go into computer sciences than men, and two female computer scientists think part of the problem is in the computer programs themselves. The women, ever diplomatic, didn't mention some ladies might lack a desire to spend 40 hours a week with men who are better at communicating in ones and zeros than in real language.
Teens, it turns out, are influenced by what they see in the movies. (Page A4) In other news that is not news, it turns out teens can be reckless, mouthy and obsessively interested in the other sex.
