Fire destroys mobile home, car in Everett

EVERETT -- A mobile home and carport were destroyed by an early morning fire Wednesday.

Everett firefighters were called to a burning house just before midnight at 115th Street SE and Meridian Avenue S. The crew reported that a mobile home, carport and car were engulfed in flames. Power lines had fallen across the road, Everett Assistant Fire Chief Glen Martinsen said.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. Neighbors reported to fire crews that they believed the house had been vacant for some time, Martinsen said.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

Bothell: Man has no memory of assault

Police believe a man who was found injured in the middle of a road on Friday is the victim of an assault.

The Kirkland man, 21, has head and upper body injuries. He was released from the hospital on Wednesday but hasn't been able to tell police what happened to him, Bothell police Sgt. Elmer Brown said.

"He's being very cooperative but the last memory he has is walking down the road," Brown said. "It's a mystery to us."

Investigators believe the man's injuries are consistent with being assaulted. They don't know where the assault happened.

Someone called 911 about 5:15 a.m. Friday to report that there was a man lying in the 100 block of 228th Street SW.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Brown didn't know if the man suffered lasting damage because of his injuries.

Investigators are tracking down leads. They are asking anyone who may have information about what happened to call the tip line at 425-487-5551.
