Evan Mattson, a 6-9 senior, led the Mavericks with 18 points while 6-6 sophomore Conner Hamlet added 14. "We were able to utilize our height advantage," said Meadowdale head coach Chad McGuire. "(Mattson and Hamlet) were able to score inside and get offensive rebounds. We tried to go inside as much as we could." It was a close game after the first quarter as Arlington led Meadowdale 21-19. "We started hot," said Arlington assistant coach Joe Marsh. "Then we cooled off." McGuire was proud of the way his team managed to keep the game close in the first quarter despite a strong showing by Arlington. Meadowdale then outscored the Eagles in the final three quarters 53-27. Cole Carpenter was the leading scorer for Arlington with 16 points, including a 3-pointer. At Arlington H.S.
