Finally, GPS for college students

Here's one vote for Angelina Jolie. Voters in a global Internet poll will select the seven natural wonders of the world. Organizers say it's a way to highlight Earth's natural beauty, such as the Grand Canyon or the Amazon rainforest.

It's a follow-up to the recent contest to name the seven man-made wonders. Depending upon whether you believe the tabloids, maybe Angelina would have fit better in the first contest.

The natural wonders poll is now taking nominees. If you want to be the first to nominate the Ebey Slough tide flats near the sewage lagoon, sorry. Beat you to it.

In a shocking revelation, an author says technology can be a danger to your privacy.

For his next book, he's going to go way out on a limb and predict big things for a series of tubes called the Internet.

Nowhere to hide: A small college in New Jersey requires students to have cell phones with GPS tracking. The phones are ostensibly for safety, but the technology holds a lot of promise. One future conversation:

Mom: "What are you up to, dear?"

Junior: "Nothing much. Just studying at the library."

Mom: "The little dot on my screen says you haven't been near a library all quarter."
