RADIO TOWERS

Time to withdraw all existing permits

This is a plea for help in opposing the KRKO towers. Our family is farming land almost next door to the planned tower site. We have been farming in Snohomish County since 1967. It is so disappointing that our beloved local radio station is now doing a great disservice to Snohomish County residents.

How? Building a tower farm on agricultural land, in the middle of a pristine valley, directly on a migratory bird route, all the while exhibiting ambivalence toward its associated health risks, is a disservice. It's really sad that the station owners (the Skotdals) continue to paint this project as a good thing for the area. Where will they be when we have a child develop leukemia?

And what about our property rights? We should not have to worry about radiation affecting our children because of what our neighbor is doing. This is not right, neither is the Skotdals' newest application to expand the tower farm. It was right of Snohomish County to deny the second application, given the new studies showing links between leukemia and AM electromagnetic radiation. What we need now is a groundswell of opposition with a withdrawal of the existing permits for the first four towers. Please help.
