The next great acronym

Everett city leaders are excited about classing up the place with a new trolley line, and it looks like it could actually work.

The first task is to come up with a catchy name -- something to rival Seattle's SLUT (South Lake Union Trolley). With price estimates starting at $54 million for the first mile and a half, and no clear way to pay for it, how about Downtown Everett's Big Trolley (DEBT)?

Queen Elizabeth will broadcast her Christmas message on YouTube this year as part of the new Royal Channel.

The channel includes a day in the life of Prince Charles. The clips show Charles reviewing papers, making a phone call and shaking approximately 60,000 hands. Sadly, no videos feature the royal corgis. Those at least would offer more drama than Charles' office work. And the corgis are more amusing than His Royal Highness.

Speaking of the queen, one of her commonwealth realms is getting some attention locally. The Australian Pie Co. is enjoying an expanding business. Good. We'd rather have the Aussie's puff pastry and savory pies than bangers and mash.
