Boeing Co. orders top 1,300 for 2007
EVERETT — On Wednesday, the Boeing Co. announced it will add at least 112 firm orders to its record 2007 commercial jet tally.
The deals push Boeing’s 2007 orders total squarely over 1,300. Boeing will provide an update on its annual orders tomorrow.
Boeing finalized a 100 airplane deal with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise on Dec. 31. The order, valued at $10.9 billion at list prices, was first announced at the Dubai Air Show in November when DAE signed a letter of intent with Boeing. DAE is a global aerospace, manufacturing and services corporation.
The Chicago-based Boeing also completed an order for 12 Dreamliner jets with Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Co. A tentative agreement for the 787s had been announced previously. Boeing does not list unconfirmed deals on its orders and deliveries Web site.
The last update Boeing made to its Web site was for orders taken through Dec. 18. Boeing listed 1,213 net orders for the year — its highest annual order count.
Since its official update, Boeing has firmed up several deals beside the two announced today that will count toward its 2007 total.
Last week, Boeing and British Airways finalized an agreement for 24 787 Dreamliners. The aerospace giant also reached a firm deal with South Korea’s Jeju Air for five 737s.
