Oklahoma again not OK

Shows what I know. West Virginia was so much quicker than the Sooners.

Two questions: How did West Virginia EVER lose to Pitt and drop out of consideration for the National Championship game? Talk about your classic gag. It was that kind of year in college football. And now we have a team with two defeats playing for the BCS title. Unreal. Related to that, WVU was in a kind of transition, as head coach Rich Rodriguez bailed to go to Michigan. They had no business looking that spectacular. Funny times.

The other question: What's up with the Sooners in BCS bowl games? That's four straight defeats. This was a much better team than the one that lost to Boise State last year. Conventional wisdom was that the Sooners were motivated to wipe that loss out by destroying the Mountaineers. What happened? Stoops has to rethink his bowl preparation. This stuff shouldn't be happening.

Give credit to WVU, though. I would have loved to see them against USC.

Tonight it's Virginia Tech and Kansas in the Orange Bowl in a game that few care about outside of Virginia and Kansas. Then we wait until Monday for the BCS title game with Ohio State and LSU. Don't you just love the way they string this out? Playoffs wouldn't last this long.
