Nude rug fails to hold thief's interest

News from the art world: An Oregon woman's rug, featuring her nude self-portrait, has been returned to her. The rug, which was stolen from an art exhibit in October, turned up in a dumpster. It had to be impossible for the thief to find matching furniture.

The rug was a little smelly, but it didn't suffer any major damage due to the theft. However, the passage of time made it sag a bit in the middle.

In a slightly more highbrow vein, "Hamlet" opens at the Seattle Children's Theatre. That's right, it's Shakespeare's grim tale of madness, rage and grief -- for kids!

This adaptation does make a few adjustments for its teen and preteen audience. "To be or not to be, that is the question" is translated to, "I don't know if I should, like, do anything. What's up with that?"

And in cinematic art, Sylvester Stallone is back in "Rambo." In this, the fourth installment of the series, the 61-year-old Stallone's action hero goes to Myanmar on a humanitarian mission. Bullets fly when Rambo goes to the Holiday Inn and finds out that the country's military junta won't honor his AARP card.
