How to make the most of snow

Posted at 12:01 am by Jessi Loerch, Herald staff

It snowed. Maybe you noticed the layer of white coating your sidewalk, messing up your commute and keeping your kids at home. But snow's not all bad -- in fact it can be downright useful. A few ways to use snow:

To cool off after a fit of temper: Our Sassy Senior columnist may need to try this idea after she reviewed how much money Medicaid part D is not saving her. If that doesn't work, maybe smashing a few politician-shaped snowmen will help.

To feel like a kid again: Having fun and relaxing is important. So if you've got snow today, we suggest you engage in some therapeutic snowman building and snowball throwing. But first, call the boss and inform him you're very, very sorry, but you can't make it work.

To ice an injury: A snowball could be useful for all sorts of injuries. A man in Alaska should keep this in mind as he spends his life living among bears.

Also, please note: A severed limb should be wrapped in plastic and then packed in ice until medical help arrives. Assuming, of course, that Kookie the grizzly doesn't eat the limb first.
