Nita Yost boards the bus for its maiden voyage from Edmonds to Seattle, ca. 1915. Allen Yost started the first automobile agency in Edmonds, a Ford agency. Yost Garage housed the Suburban Transportation System, serving Richmond Beach and Seattle. Other Yost enterprises included a stage line, a Buick agency, bus manufacturing, and a water company.

Last Friday's heavy rains and melting snow compounded an old problem for Dave White of White's Lumber Sales in Lynnwood.
The flooding added up to more than 2 to 3 feet of water in his yard, where lumber floated freely in "Lake White." Plasterboard, plywood and lumber were ruined. White is seeking $300 in damages from the city of Lynnwood.
The prospect of something being done is very, very dim, however. The problem at 60th and Dale is only one of several plaguing the city during a heavy rainfall, and there is no money to make the needed corrections, said Bill Nims, public works director.
One way to solve the drainage problem is implementing a recently completed sewer and water plan. Scratching up $3.5 million is the hang up, of course, said Nims.
