Recent dance earned the ASB $384 and included about two-thirds of the school's students. Incentive to run: "I said to myself I had to run for the office or do the school talent show and I don't know what I would have done for the talent show." First impressions: "I expected the job to be a bunch of paperwork, but it's more about keeping the school spirit up." More spirit: Loves days when students dress up in school colors black and orange. Is thankful that her mother knows where to find orange clothes. "She is like my personal shopper." Good timing: Looks forward to attending the new $40 million Granite Falls High School next year. Watched as it was being built on her way to school. "I remember when it was just dirt." Scouting report: "My brother (Brandon) is already in high school. He says there is a lot of homework but he says he likes the high school and the teachers." Favorite subjects:Math and science. Fine dining: Likes to cook, particularly pasta and desserts. Learning to make marinara sauce from her mom. Favorite part of cooking is eating the batter out of the bowl after making a cake. Big sister: Shares a room with her sister, Laura, who is in the fourth grade. Enjoys her company, playing with her and comparing their dreams, but sometimes has to tell her she needs to get to sleep. "I think we have such a strong bond because we share the same room." Favorite book: "Backwater" by Joan Bauer. Furry friends: Has a black lab, Turkish, and five cats. All are outside pets because of family allergies. Turkish doesn't get too lonely, however. "He gets lots of company from the cats." Kicks and spikes: Was captain of her school's volleyball team and plays for a Snohomish-based select soccer team. Soccer tournaments can take her far and wide. Played one tourney in Colorado. Likes playing defense. Berry good: Family lives on five acres and takes advantage of nature's bounty during the summer. "We have lots of huckleberry pies." Know a super kid?
