Papa Don't Preach about the Hall of Fame

Big news, music fans: Madonna's going to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Monday. A former member of the hall's nominating committee says her induction is an embarrassment, but we think that seems a little harsh. He should to wait to hurl around adjectives like that until the Backstreet Boys become eligible.

The jellyfish are coming: Huge swarms of them are oozing toward Spain's Mediterranean coast and could threaten swimmers later in the year, officials say. You could cower on the beach. Or you could grab your camcorder, rent a boat and seize your chance to mark the 50th anniversary of "The Blob" with a new sequel. "The Blob III: Ppppbbbtthh" has summer blockbuster written all over it.

Mammoths! Dinosaurs! Giant birdszzzzz … According to Herald movie critic Robert Horton, "10,000 B.C." might be better off forgotten. The film aims for epic but ends up somewhere closer to unexciting, he says. Maybe some killer jellyfish would have helped.
