Dave Ruddell has been promoted to the rank of captain with Snohomish County Fire District 1. Ruddell has been a firefighter for 12 years with fire districts in Chelan, Monroe and Snohomish. He is a paramedic and a member of the technical rescue team.

Betty Jo "B.J." Hoogerwerf, a registered nurse with The Everett Clinic since 1997, is the recipient of the 2008 Outstanding Achievement in Perioperative Clinical Nursing Practice Award from the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses. Hoogerwerf developed the first hospital-based Registered Nurse First Assistant program west of the Mississippi in 1990.

Joe Brancucci has been promoted to executive vice president of Boeing Employees Credit Union. He will oversee all member experience tasks, including services, product delivery, marketing, lending and human resources.

Brian Deller was recently hired by Colliers International for Snohomish County and Eastside in its Bellevue office. Deller is a recent Washington State University graduate. Colliers is a real estate services firm.

Dr. Todd Havener, of Everett Bone & Joint, Proliance Surgeons, recently was inducted as a fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, recognizing his residency training and certification. Havener is a graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Ann Anderst of Snoho­mish has joined the staff of the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross as its annual fund manager. She has more than 15 years of experience in fundraising with Big Brothers-Big Sisters and YMCA of Snohomish County. She can be reached at 425-740-2354.

Debbie Sawatzky has been promoted to senior vice president at North County Bank. She has been with North County Bank since it opened in 1999 and has more than 20 years of experience in banking in the Everett and Marysville areas.

Betsy Maddy has joined North County Bank as assistant branch manager for the Arlington-Smokey Point branch. Maddy has more than seven years of banking experience and has lived in the Arlington area for more than 20 years.

Greg Huebner has joined the operations department of the Snohomish County Airport. Huebner, who just completed an internship with an airport in Colorado, is a 2006 graduate of Western Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in aviation science and administration. Born and raised in Yakima, he spent five years in the Marines as a crew chief on the AV-8B Harrier aircraft.

Joel Mariano is a new vice president and service center manager for Cascade Financial Corp. He has 28 years of experience.

Melanie Evans, a licensed massage therapist, has joined Evergreen Physical Therapy Center and Pilates Studio. She offers a variety of massage types and also works with people seeking therapy for auto accidents or work-related injuries.

Don Kiser, senior vice president and chief financial officer for Prime Pacific Bank was a finalist for the Puget Sound Business Journal's CFO of the Year award at a dinner, Feb. 28 at the Westin Hotel in Seattle. Prime Pacific Bank has branches in Lynnwood, Kenmore and Mill Creek and specializes in the business community.

Christoper Overfield, a licensed massage therapist, has joined Snohomish Physical Therapy and will offer a variety of services.

Dr. Gowri Shankar has earned the distinguished teaching award at University of Washington Bothell. An associate professor, Shankar teaches finance, accounting and economics classes at the college. He was honored for his classroom work and his attention to students who need additional help.

Rick Laird has been hired by Pacific Earth Works, a Monroe-based landscape architectural company, as a project manager and estimator. Laird has a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from Washington State University.

Michele O'Loane announces the opening of her law office in the Bank of America Building, 1604 Hewitt Ave., Suite 301, Everett. O'Loane's practice includes domestic relations, family law and collaborative law. She accepts family law referrals. Call 425-252-5020.
