Kyle Beach's season at a glance

Sept. 28: Everett loses to Kelowna 6-4 in its third game of the season, but Beach scores three goals (thanks to a scoring change after the game) to introduce himself as an offensive force.

Oct. 3: Beach scores a highlight-reel goal, picking the puck up on the blade of his stick while behind the net and wrapping it around the post, sparking Everett's first victory of the season, a 4-0 decision over Spokane. Beach scores on the move again when the team loses 4-1 at Edmonton on Nov. 1.

Nov. 6: Beach scores a goal during Everett's 4-1 victory over Medicine Hat, giving him goals in five straight games and points (either a goal or an assist) in 12 straight.

Nov. 18: During a game at Chilliwack, Beach crashes into the goal post and has to be helped from the ice. He suffers bruised ribs but later returns and scores two short-handed goals as the Tips win 4-1.

Dec. 14: Beach suffers a concussion in a fight with Tri-City's Mitch McColm late in a 3-1 Everett defeat. The concussion causes Beach to miss the final two games of the first half of the season.

Jan. 16: The infamous Beach-Bruton bust-up. Everett had just won 2-1 in Spokane when a tussle breaks out after the final horn. During the altercation, Spokane's Chris Bruton knocks Beach unconscious with a punch. Bruton is suspended for two games. Beach suffers his second concussion in just over a month. He misses six games because of this concussion.

March 8: During the third period of a 1-0 loss at Vancouver, Beach takes a puck to the face from a shot off the stick of teammate Graham Potuer. Beach returns to the game but is later diagnosed with a fractured orbital bone in his cheek. Beach misses one game because of the injury and plays the rest of the season wearing a full face shield.

March 14: In what amounts to a do-or-die game against Seattle to earn home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs, Beach takes a five-minute major penalty for checking from behind during the third period of a tie game. Seattle scores twice during the penalty to win the game, and Beach receives a one-game suspension from the league for the hit.
