Seahawks bring back two former teammates

Two former Seattle Seahawks defenders are set to do a second tour of duty with the team after signing one-year contracts on Tuesday.

Linebacker D.D. Lewis, who spent his first five NFL seasons with the Seahawks, and defensive end Chris Cooper re-signed with the team. Lewis was with the Denver Broncos last season while Cooper, who went to training camp with the Seahawks in 2006, spent the past two years with the Arizona Cardinals.

The Seahawks are looking for depth at linebacker and special teams help after Niko Koutouvides signed with the Broncos earlier this month. Lewis, 29, helps on both accounts. He was a starter on the Seahawks' 2005 Super Bowl team but eventually lost his job to Leroy Hill.

Cooper, 30, adds depth on the defensive line, where he will try to compete for a roster spot.
