Martha Stewart's dog knows a good thing

The Herald helps: The National Weather Service's Seattle office was predicting as much as an inch of snow in Snohomish County's lowland areas for this morning.

Having decided to put this news on the front page, we have now guaranteed that you won't see any snow at all. However, revealing our secret powers to control the weather, we have likely jinxed things and must now apologize for the 3 feet of snow in your front yard.

Bad dog, no cheese plate: It's probably no surprise, but Martha Stewart feeds her dogs an organic dry dog food with a side of steamed veggies, scrambled eggs and cottage cheese.

Martha has had to scold her dogs on occasion, however, when she's caught them trying to sneak broccoli off their plates to the kids at the children's table.

Here fishy, fishy: Scientists are attempting to train sea bass released into open water to swim into nets when they hear a signal the fish think means feeding time. The hope is that fish won't have to be kept in net pens until they're ready for market.

The scientists are optimistic as the principle already is shown to work among higher mammals, namely humans who are shown TV commercials for Outback Steakhouse's Bloomin' Onion.
