Named to serve with him during the ensuing year were Stu Collins, Bob Cassidy, Harry Botesch, Virg Cantrell, Bill Severson, Jack Sather, Torchy Ostlund and John Smith. At the fourth annual science fair at Everett High School, Jean Reichmann had an exhibit on hand lotion while Marlene Meinke's exhibit was on making perfumes. 25 years ago (1983) A huge six-gill shark, one of 14 such monsters caught in a single net haul by a commercial bottom fish trawler, came into the 14th Street dock by Steurart's Seafoods. The giant fish was more than 10 feet long and an estimated half-ton in weight. After spending several calm days in the Indian Ocean, solo skipper Mark Schrader of Stanwood radioed last week that he expected to reach Hobart, Tasmania, by today, the third scheduled stop on his around-the-world sailing venture to raise funds for the Resource Foundation.
