Three county police chase starts in Everett, ends in Puyallup

PUYALLUP – A man who led police on a three-county chase that began in Snohomish County early this morning was arrested in Puyallup, officials said.

The chase began when Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies spotted suspicious activity around 3 a.m. near the Denny’s restaurant on 128th Street SW in south Everett, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

When deputies approached the vehicle, it sped off onto southbound I-5 reaching speeds of up to 90 mph, Hover said.

The chase continued south through King County and into Pierce County. The man got off the freeway in Puyallup and tribal police officers used their loudspeakers to convince the man to pull over, said Puyallup Tribal Police spokesman John Weymer.

Police learned the man was driving with a suspended license, Weymer said. He said officers found evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia in the man’s car.

The man driving the vehicle was turned over to the Pierce County sheriff’s deputy to be booked into jail.

An 18-year-old Marysville man died Friday night when his car smashed into a tree with Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies in pursuit. The investigation into the chase and crash that killed Randall Privrasky continues.
