Text a tip to police

Crime Stoppers will now accept
tips by text message
in Snohomish, Island, King and Kitsap counties. This isn't an alternative to dialing 911 in an emergency, BTW.
Details about how it works are available on the
Crime Stoppers Web site
.
Just don't do it
while driving
. That's illegal in Washington state now.
My only question: Can the cops understand text speak?
