Puget Sound Crime Stoppers accepts tips by text message

SEATTLE -- If you see a crime in progress call 911.
But Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering another way to send police tips.
Cell phone users in King, Kitsap, Snohomish and Island counties can send information to Crime Stoppers by text message.
There are directions online, including a way to use an alias to protect identity and qualify for rewards.
