It's rough driving the Ford company

These are hard times for lots of people. Just look at Ford CEO Alan Mulally. His compensation went down 42 percent last year to a measly $22.8 million.

That included $1.4 million in perks, such as use of the company jet and season tickets to sports events. But Ford lost $2.7 billion last year, so it's not all roses for Mulally. The season tickets are to Detroit Lions games, and the company car is a Fiesta.

Closer to home, the county salary commission handed out raises to elected officials.

County Executive Aaron Reardon's pay will go up roughly 4 percent from the $138,934 he's making this year. There's no jet, but he can afford one of those toy Everett Transit buses.

The county can pay Reardon's salary by selling the perfect accessory to the toy buses -- county executive action figures, complete with light sabers for battling the County Council.

And a study found why young men take risks to go after all that money: sex.

Other analysis has found sex is also the main motivation for young men to clean their bathrooms, sit through romantic comedies and even get out of bed in the morning in the first place.
