Jim Johanson seeks the Snohomish County Superior Court seat of Judge Richard Thorpe, who has announced that he will not try for another four-year term. Johanson, 51, practices law with an emphasis on civil litigation and real estate issues. He was a state legislator between 1992 and 1994. Johanson is one of at least three lawyers who have designs on the job. The others include Joseph Wilson of Everett, and George Appel, a deputy prosecuting attorney. From Herald staff reports
