Edmonds attorney kicks off campaign for judge

An Edmonds lawyer is scheduled Wednesday to kick off a 2008 campaign for judge with a reception between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. at the Monte Cristo Hotel, 1507 Wall St., Everett.

Jim Johanson seeks the Snohomish County Superior Court seat of Judge Richard Thorpe, who has announced that he will not try for another four-year term.

Johanson, 51, practices law with an emphasis on civil litigation and real estate issues.

He was a state legislator between 1992 and 1994. Johanson is one of at least three lawyers who have designs on the job. The others include Joseph Wilson of Everett, and George Appel, a deputy prosecuting attorney.
