Workshops A series of financial literacy events will be held around Snohomish County during May and June, thanks to a grant geared at offering financial asset development mentorship training for human service workers from agencies in Snohomish County. The grant, acquired by Workforce Development Council Snohomish County and the Snohomish County Financial Asset Development Coalition, was received from Washington State Community, Trade and Economic Development. Financing an education seminars will be held from noon to 1 p.m. May 9 at Council's office, 728 134th St. SW in Everett. Financing a business startup is from noon to 1 p.m. June 9 at the Northwest Women's Business Center, 2333 Seaway Blvd., Suite 108, in Everett. Also, four general financial asset workshops, all from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will be held at the following locations: Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington, May 28; Workforce Development Council Snohomish County, June 10; Monroe School District Board Room, 200 E. Fremont, June 18; and WorkSource Lynnwood, 20311 52nd Ave. W., June 25. Awards received by Dick's Drive-In include the 2006 National Community Service Award from the Daughters of the American Revolution, the 2006 Hero Award from Washington Dollars for Scholars and honors from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
