Marysville man dies after jumping out of car

Police suspect alcohol and an argument were factors in the death of the Marysville man.

MARYSVILLE -- Snohomish County sheriff's traffic detectives are trying to determine what led a Marysville man to jump out of a moving sport utility vehicle early Wednesday.

The man, 26, suffered critical injuries and died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Investigators believe alcohol likely was a factor in the incident, sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

The incident happened about 1:30 a.m. in the 5700 block of eastbound 88th Street NE. The man, his girlfriend and another couple left the Tulalip Casino. The man was riding in the back seat and was arguing with his girlfriend, Hover said.

Suddenly he decided to get out of the Suzuki XL7, which was going about 30 mph, Hover said.

The man suffered head and chest injuries, Marysville Fire spokeswoman Stephanie Price said. He was taken by helicopter to Harborview, where he died.

The King County medical examiner is expected to conduct an autopsy.

The driver was not ticketed. No arrests were made in connection with the man's death, Hover said.
