Explosion get slammed by Bellingham 149-112

BELLINGHAM -- Paul Hafford of the Bellingham Slam led all scorers with 26 points and the Slam defeated the Snohomish County Explosion 149-112 in International Basketball League play Saturday in Bellingham.

The Slam shot 57.5 percent from the field in the game -- 62 percent in the first half and 53 percent in the second.

"We're not making excuses," Explosion head coach Randy Redwine said. "We didn't play good enough defense. They had a lot of layups."

Western Washington University alum Tyler Amaya had 21 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Slam and teammate Jacob Stevenson added 20 points.

Donald Watts was the leading scorer for the Explosion with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Chris Keller and Alex Adediran each had 16 points. Jamal Miller had 15 points and nine rebounds and Greg Hendrix had 10 points, seven assists and seven rebounds.
