Arleen Edward has been named director of catering and conference services for Tulalip Resort Casino's new 30,000-square-foot meeting and conference facility. Edward has more than 14 years of hospitality and catering experience, and previously served as senior event director for Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, Mich.

Dr. Paul Knoll, a medical director with Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County, has been named Home Care Association of Washington's physician of the year. He will be presented with the award at the association's spring conference, Thursday at the Holiday Inn in Everett.

Clyde Ellis and Matt Johnson are the store managers of the Stanwood and Arlington Haggen Food and Pharmacy locations, respectively.

Virginia Sprague has been named general manager of the Quality Inn & Suites, located at 101 128th St. SE, Everett.

Dennis Kaiser has joined Allstate Financial Group as an financial representative, offering customers variable annuity, life and mutual fund products in addition to traditional life insurance and long-term care products.

Special Event

The Everett Area Chamber of Commerce's 2008 Banner Bank golf tournament is July 18 at Legion Memorial Golf Course in Everett. The tournament is a scramble format, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Klein Honda offers a new Honda Accord in the hole-in-one competition. Space is limited. Greens fees are $110 per golfer, $440 per foursome and $1,500 for executive foursomes (limited number available). A barbecue dinner follows the tournament. LeTip will also collect canned food items at the door to be donated to the Marysville Food Bank. The cost is free to nonmembers. Good deeds

Whitfield's United Insurance Agencies announced Safeco's sponsorship of the Snohomish County American Red Cross' annual Real Heroes Breakfast in December. The breakfast, now in its 13th year, recognizes 10 Snohomish County individuals who have performed an act of heroism. Safeco's check to the Red Cross was presented by Safeco agent Don Whitfield of Whitfield's United Insurance Agencies in Everett. Whitfield nominated the Snohomish County American Red Cross for a grant through Safeco's agent giving program.
